  • (POLL) Would you buy cookies that you see in your hair & nail salon?

To clarify, if you were to walk into a salon to get hair, nails, etc. and saw cookies for sale on the counter, would you consider buying them? (the counter, by the way, doesn't have hair or nail products on it)

I'm trying to save up a little money and my speciality is making cookies. My mom owns a salon and I thought about putting bags of cookies for sale in a basket in her salon, but I don't know if anyone would want to buy cookies in a salon? Please give me your input.

Thanks in advance.(POLL) Would you buy cookies that you see in your hair %26amp; nail salon?
    Well, I wouldn't jump in and say ';no.';

A hair salon I go to, has a glass jar full of lollies with a lid on top. And they offer them to the little kids (for free) who get their hair cut.

Or even the adults wish to have one.

I think it would be okay, if they're wrapped up tightly and the packaging looks neat (it does matter).

You want it tight so that no nasty fumes will encounter with the cookies. Even hair.

Though if they were just sitting on a plate not wrapped up or anything, no thanks.

Its all about Occupational Health and Safety and Food regulations.

If the cookies were like i said (wrapped up and all), I'd buy them...if they had white chocolate drops in them ;)(POLL) Would you buy cookies that you see in your hair %26amp; nail salon?
maybe. sitting there waiting for them to be ready for me, you have free time anyway so hey-might as well buy some cookies! and if you're just hungry lol. so yea, i'd go for it!
salon's usually give customers tea or coffee, so why not try selling cookies?
no because you don't know who made them. If they were professionally packaged then maybe
if i went to a nail or hair salon, no i would not buy the cookies unless i was REALLY hungry
I don't think I would, but you'll never know unless you try. Business could be great or it could be crap. Try it out for a week.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!
hmmm.... you could try. There's almost always one mom who has to bring her kids with her to the salon. Maybe a mom would buy a cookie for the kids. Try it if they sell then stick with it if they don't then move on think up a new product maybe you could put together little gift baskets with hair and nail stuff in them and sell them. But go for whatever sells. Good luck!
Well you could try but I wouldn't buy them.. I suppose it would be a good idea for people with younger children to keep them occupied, but if you want to earn some extra cash why don't you ask your mom if you could help her in the salon? obviously not with the customers but you could clean up afterwards or something like that..

    good luck!
No, the chemicals used in a nail and hair salon smell nasty. I wouldn't by anything to eat from there! Sorry, but hair and food just don't mix.
I'd consider if they looked really yummy, maybe if you have your mom say they were homemade buy her daughter, mention how good they are and everything, people might be interested : )
maybe. u could sell them by the counter or say that ex. 10% go to cancer or something so u would be making a profit and they would help people. also u have to make sure they were packaged tightly enough and make them appealing. Kids get hungry and sometimes their moms will reward them if they are good or mayb theyll but one for later. ull never no till u try so id give it a try!
    maby
No. A: I would think about the chemicals being absorbed into the cookies and B: I just got my nails done and do not want to mess them up by digging into a bag or messing with saran wrap.
I bet if I was hungry I would. You could always try it! You have nothing to lose, for all you know you could sell them all!
probably not just cuz i buy my hair products there. lol but thats me Women have children that get bored and stuff so having cookies there would help!

Best home hair dye for previously salon treated hair?

Hello, I have about 3-4 inches of horrible looking re-growth!! I can't afford to go to a school or salon for about another 2 months. I'm a dark blonde with light blonde highlights, I want to cover up my re-growth and I know box dyes are horrbile, but which one is not as bad as the others???Best home hair dye for previously salon treated hair?

Is breastfeeding safe for the baby when the mother works at a hair salon with all the chemicals in the air?

that depends on if the chemicals are absorbed in the skin i am not sure but i think as long as you are not absorbing it in the skin then your fine check with the er just to be sure good luckIs breastfeeding safe for the baby when the mother works at a hair salon with all the chemicals in the air?
I just looked up on birthcare.com and they said that the chemicals that are used do not harm you during pregnsncy. Is breastfeeding safe for the baby when the mother works at a hair salon with all the chemicals in the air?
I think it is okay but You should still take caution of what you breath in ingest or let get on your skin, keep yourself fully covered arounfd your breastswith a salon gown when you ork with chemicals and you can also use a face mask to repell some of the chemicals in the salon.. I think you will be fine just use your common sense. And check the products themselves to because usually if they are very harmful they will read so and if its bad for you its bad for the baby, just use wise prevention motives
I have been fighting with my son's eczema for four years with little success and was unhappy to find out that baby number two had the same skin problems. I read somewhere that calendula based creams were good for this condition and have used others with some success but I was BLOWN AWAY with how quickly my both of my kids' skin improved with your calendula cream. After the first application the skin was better than ever. It is simply amazing! Thanks for making this wonderful product!!!! E.M

    Hair extensions Salon in Chicago?

I need some hair extensions for prom. My own hair is very thin and too short to achieve the look I want, so I just want some good quality, human hair extensions. Like I said I have very thin, European hair (which will be bleached to a lighter color for prom), and I would prefer not to have to put any glue or thread into my hair.

Is there any salon in chicago that would be reasonably priced for this situation?Hair extensions Salon in Chicago?
    I suggest dark brown.

and yes one more question where can we find the stethescope and BP cuffs from....i need to buy them for my cna class...thanksIs Hair Off good for eyebrows because i cant use plucker or go to salon?
I've tried Nair, the one for face hair and it works fine for me. The thing is you have to be careful with that so that you don't end up messing your whole face up by accidental removing all your eyebrows.

I can't tell you about Hair Off, but i know that some of those products burn when you use them on your face, so make sure you get the ones that are for facial hair.

Believe me, it really does burn and it's uncomfortable. I know, I experimented with that.Is Hair Off good for eyebrows because i cant use plucker or go to salon?
I can't help with the eyebrow question, but look in the 'phone directory for a medical supply store to locate your BP equipment source.

How much would it cost to dye it?

    How much for the cut?

etc.How much would It cost to get my hair like this at a salon? {picture}?
Well it depends on your salon. I'm guessing like 30-100 for the dye. For the cut..it's probbaly what your usual cut costs. Just ask for short choppy layers and tease!!

Good Luck! How much would It cost to get my hair like this at a salon? {picture}?
depends on the salon. mine is 60-75 for color, and 60 for a cut, so somewhere around that if you want it done decently. but honestly, don't get your hair done like this. it's a bad idea.

Can you color your hair the next day with a walmart color after having a salon color it?

I went to a salon to have my hair colored and highlighted. The lady mistakenlly bleached my hair instead of coloring it. When she realized she had done that she put color on it. Anyways, I hate the color, its alot darker than I thought it would be.Can you color your hair the next day with a walmart color after having a salon color it?
I hope she comp'd the visit ... and yes, you CAN recolor it the next day, though it's not healthy for your hair, considering you've already bleached %26amp; colored, but ... it beats going around w/ hair color you hate. Can you color your hair the next day with a walmart color after having a salon color it?
i think you should wait a while because then you could possibly damage your hair, so i wouldnt risk it

    but its your choice
The person above has a good point, this is something you should talk to the manager about.
It is better to wait a while before applying another color.
It is always best to wait at least 2-3 weeks between chemical services. If the Stylist did it wrong , go back to the salon and talk to the manager and or owner and they will correct it.
Why do you have to go fix it yourself? You go back and tell them that was not what you wanted and that they need to fix it, she even knows what she did was wrong. Tell them you want someone professional to fix your hair. They will do it for free and fix your hair up, but seriously there is no reason for you do go through that, you paid to get your hair done a way you wanted it and she messed up, it's not your fault, why are you to fix it. Don't call or anything just show up and get it fixed. I did it once and it came out that everyone was telling me sorry who worked there because they got that quite often from her. Hope this helped and you decide to go back and get it done right!

What is a hair glaze? (professional @ the salon) and how does it work?

can you add color to a glaze that completely washes out?

What is a hair glaze? (professional @ the salon) and how does it work?
It's something you put on after you shampoo and condition.

It's not really a dye, it just enhances your natural or dyed colour

    Mine? : http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

If i go to a hair salon?

okay well i think i am going to go get it dyed again. well i dyed my hair using a box and got a brownish reddish color and i hate being called a ';redhead'; all of the time even though i have natural blonde hair.

can they dye it a dark brown with no red in it whatsoever and no red tint after it fades? If i go to a hair salon?
Yes, if you tell them that you don't want any red tint in your hair they will probably strip the color off which will bring up to a bright yellow and then they will re-dye it with a brown hair color with a neutral base. The product you used probably had a warm base which is what gave you red tones, but consider yourself lucky you didn't get pink. My mom's salon sees alot of at home hair disasters. If i go to a hair salon?
any color you want if you have a good stylist
Now that your hair already has some red in it they will not have to put any in. They can just put some brown over the color you already have. Any time you have dark brown hair there will always be some red, that's just the way it is. It won't fade to be red, just a lighter brown then what you started with.

I got my hair dyed today from the salon I don't like how long until I can dye it?

I will dye it with store bought hair dye. Can I do it tomorrow? She did blonde on top and dark brown on the bottom. She first bleached my hair then lighted it, but it turned out like a yellow I really don't like it!!!I got my hair dyed today from the salon I don't like how long until I can dye it?
dude, go back to the salon and tell her you hate it. you wasted so much money and now youre going to use store bought dye? that sucks!! GO defend yourself and your hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! be nice about it, apparently being nice is key to getting what you want.I got my hair dyed today from the salon I don't like how long until I can dye it?
Go back to the salon and they should fix it if you don't like it. If you leave unhappy, you should phone them explain u don't like it and if they are any kind of upstanding salon they will do it for free!! Forget paying the money for doing the box color yourself, it will fry your hair. But u can do it today, u could even call them today and tell them u want to schedule a time to come back.
You should have told the hair stylist that you disliked it. Most places will be more than happy to redo it for you for free. Call and be nice about it.
My friend didnt like how her hair turned out from the salon so we bought some hair dye from rite aid and i redyed it for her within 2 hours and it turned out fine. but it could be different with anybody.
I'm with Mirandad and Jess B. Call the salon and tell them your complaint. You should not spend anymore money on this. They should fix it for you for free.

Good luck with your improved color! : )

How much would it cost to take black short hair to blonde at a beauty school salon?

i heard it was way cheaper my sister got her brown hair taked to blonde and got black and pink highlights put in her hair for $85 how much would it be jsut to do one all over color???How much would it cost to take black short hair to blonde at a beauty school salon?
depending on how applications they will have to do to your hair it being so dark I would say anywhere from $40-65...that is a rough estimate though...you should call a couple of salon and ask their opinion.....hope this helped you in some kind of way....How much would it cost to take black short hair to blonde at a beauty school salon?
Prices can really vary alot depending on the school. Where I went to beauty school, it would have cost about $30-40 to go from black to blond. Beware though, it will involve using pretty strong chemicals and will have to stay on a while and will damage your hair pretty bad. Make sure that it is what you want before you have it done. I have seen some people have it done and it turn out beautiful but others end up with very severally damaged hair that was just awful looking.
It will probably cost you one head of hair.
Going from dyed black to blond is amazingly difficult, and quite honestly, I would NOT trust students to do it. That's a huge, huge gamble, even professionals have messed up bleaching my hair before (which is why I do it myself now, then I only have myself to blame). Honestly it might be near-impossible to go blond blond if you've been dying your hair black for a long time, a better option might be trying a dye lifting agent(they have them)/color removal, then lightening your hair from your NATURAL color.
I don't think you know what you are in for. Black hair is hard, hard, hard to lighten, especially if you want it ALL lightened. It's not something you want a student to learn how to do on your head.

Also, the upkeep will be EXTREME - at least every 2-3 weeks unless you want to look like a skunk in reverse! =)

If you are set on blonde - go for some blonde highlights. Or better yet - red highlights. Looks gorgeous on black hair.

I cut my hair myself after not liking how the hair salon did it...it looks kinda messed help?!?

A few days ago the hair dressers cut my hair. The next day i waqs really upset with how they cut it..so i kinda attempted to do Japanese style layers.. and well its F***ED!!! My fringed is messed to...HELP?!!!I cut my hair myself after not liking how the hair salon did it...it looks kinda messed help?!?
Well what's done is done now, so there are very limited ways to fix your hair completely. Good thing is that your haircut is not permanent! I've had plenty of bad haircuts in the past. I suggest maybe finding some nice hair styles you like and trying them out. Maybe even if you put your hair up you might like it better.

Also, you can go to another hair salon and they can fix up your hair for you if that is something you really want to do, depending on how short you want or don't want your hair. If not, maybe your hair isn't as bad as you think it is, just give it a few days of experimenting with different hair styles.I cut my hair myself after not liking how the hair salon did it...it looks kinda messed help?!?
get it shaved off and get a wig till it grows back. jkjk

uhmm, why dont you just go get it recut at a different place and say either the other place jacked it up, or some one thought id be funny to cut your hair in your sleep(:,, your welcome.commen sense tells me you should NEVER EVER EVER cut your hair again. and dont quit your day job to go be a hair dresser(: ,,
Go back to the hairdressers to get it sorted %26amp; tell them exactly what you want. If you're at all unhappy then speak up! I was a hairdresser until recently %26amp; believe me, a good hairdresser would rather you be honest %26amp; leave the salon happy than be feeling pissed off %26amp; never come back again.

And remember, it's just hair, nobody died, it will grow back.
i think you need go back to the hairdressers hun lol to get them to cut it to a nice length so the layers fit in nicely but dont do it yourself you'll just ruin your hair for the mean time i suggest you grip your fringe back and put your hair up and remember DONT CUT YOURSELF AGAIN lol hope it gets sorted hun x
Awww dear you poor little thing! I suggest you go to another hair salon and get them to fix it up. You might not like it, though it will look better than what we would do as we don't know what we're doing. Next time, just leave it a few days and sleep on it, you might grow to like it! Just keep away from the scissors!
Don't ever cut your own hair. A lot of stylists usually won't cut their own hair. It's a lot more complicated than you would think. Go get it fixed at a different place and hope for the best. Next time, you might be more precise in telling them what you want done.
If this is the same person who wanted to be preppy then you should go back to a hair salon and let a professional do it and do not feel bashful and tell her how you want it.

Some one help me with mine please http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
you are going to have to leave it and let it grow out. Im assuming you didnt tell the hairdresser you didnt like it, but if you have cut it yourself now theres not a lot you can do
I don't think there is anything you can do to your hair..Until it grows out..You could wear a hat.....Your hair will eventually grow back. Although,I don't think there is anything you can do for it,Except get another good looking haircut?
You should have gone back...if you don't like it they will generally change it without charging you...now...i don't now...have it cut again, but if you've cut it too short then you'll have to wait.
Clip it back or wear a headband. Don't despair, in a couple of months you'll be able to get it restyled into something you like.
I cut my hair, pretty bad. And just like cut it short. Like a little bit below your shoulder, so all the hair is all the same length.
Go to another salon. Never try to cut your own hair if you don't know how.... Such a pain in the a** for your next stylist.
You either have to go to another salon and fix it or you have to waitt till it grows back.
    Hello,

There is nothing to worry just have a boy cut with short hair

    if you like ....

    What to expect(question wise)?

ANY OTHER ADVICE , answer ASAP PLEASE and THANK YOU!Hi, i have an interview at a hair salon to be a beauticians assistant. This will be my 1st job interview?HELP?
Wear something comfortable.so that when you are to assist the beautician Sr. you wont have to roll up or trying to tuck or pull your clothings on the job.Look smart and not to over dressed.

FIRST IMPRESSION ALWAYS COUNT.How long are you working on the job or the experence you have.If they ask you to do something and you are not confident be frank and say so, better than making a mistake. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST I KNOW YOU WILL MAKE IT.

My Advise:- If you are not sure of what to answer the question asked, say so.Hi, i have an interview at a hair salon to be a beauticians assistant. This will be my 1st job interview?HELP?
Being in the cosmetology field myself, The main thing you have to remember is that in a salon people are there to relax and feel at home while you and the other stylists make them feel beautiful. You have to be a people person, if you are not...get out now. Your job is to make your client feel comfortable..AND DO NOT GOSSIP. Some clients treat their stylist as their psychologist..they have trust in you..you can not allow gossip to break your clients trust with you. Be an affective listener at all times and get your job done. You should wear something that is professional yet something that still has your edge to it. After all, you are selling yourself to your client and your interviewer would like to see that you are comfortable in your style to be able to pass on to others. Nothing that is revealing, and something that you can walk around in, if they like you they will want to show you around the salon. GOOD LUCK!

yes! i am 14 as well and i have naturally blonde hair and i just dyed it like pretty dark brown the other day (out of a box), and it turned out great! i get compliments on it every day! and it is much much cheaper. if u were bleaching your hair i wouldnt suggest doing it out of a box, but if u r going darker it usually always looks good!Does it work as well when you dye yor hair at home as it does when you get it dyed at a salon?
It doesn't work quite as well - but it does work. It'll probably just wash out faster.
well if you are going dark you are a little bit safer than if you were going lighter. I would definetely recommend not buying a BOX of dark dye because they tend to wash out with like 4 washes and leave your dark hair red (which is HARD to take out)

I would go to a beauty supply store and ask for a cream developer and a good color that you would want..if you dont want red go ashy dark..

Best to just do that..they'll give u a free consultation to pick out whats best for you (since they'll see you in person)

And you're hair will look super cute!

Good luck..always start with the roots and then the rest of the hair :)
if i were you, i would get it done at a salon. a few weeks ago i tried demi-permanently dying my hair and it turned out really badly. in a few more weeks im going to get it done in a salon. so even though its more expensive in a salon, its worth it.
no because Ur not a pro and they are so there
Of course not because a professional is experienced and they've died millions of peoples hair so they know what to do and what not to do - they know how long to keep the colour in your hair and what clour looks good on you - and what colours to mix and what to put in your hair and they give you tips and advice and so on, its just won't compare to you doing it by yourself but you can still do it - no one is really going to notice the difference!
Well I'm sure the stylists on here will tell you NO WAY. However, I have been playing around and dying my hair since I was like 12 and it always looks good. If you are using a semi-permanent dye then that is even more of a reason to just save the money and do it yourself cuz it will mostly wash out in 28 shampoos.

Know of any good Hair Salon's in England that you can't go wrong with???

You can recommend Toni %26amp; Gay, but i'm just getting a bit bored of their identi-kit haircuts, that are almost always balls anyway, and end up making you look like a boy band fagg0t.

Otherwise, do you know of any decent hairdressers/salons in Milton Keynes?? Cos i cant for the life of me find one. But then, thats probably because its one of the worlds biggest skankholes outside of Kabul.....Know of any good Hair Salon's in England that you can't go wrong with???

The right hair salon for African American Hair .?

I live in NYC I can't find a hair salon that does hair the way I want. I have straight curly hair so it's not about the texture, is more so styling. Where could I go where I dont have to pay so much out of pocket for a good wash and set.The right hair salon for African American Hair .?

Has anyone had their hair dyed at any Jean Louis David salon in NYC?

I found a Jean Louis David salon near my job recently. I've been trying to find a RELIABLE BUT REASONABLY PRICED hair salon that I can get my hair professionally dyed at.

Unfortunately, after doing some research, I found that this salon received mostly negative reviews from past customers. However, most of them went for haircuts NOT to get their hair dyed.

If you have been to any of these salons in New York City in the past, I would love to hear your review.

Thanks in advance!Has anyone had their hair dyed at any Jean Louis David salon in NYC?
I can't afford to live in NYC. However, as for having your hair professionally dyed, it is much cheaper (and easy) to do it yourself. Purchase your products at a place like Sally Beauty Supply (perhaps there is one near you) and not at a grocery store or Wal Mart. A beauty supply store will have better quality products. Get the dye, a mixing bottle, a bottle of developer (this will last since there is more than enough), and gloves. If you get any spots on your counter or floor, they come up with bleach. Put an old towel around your shoulders and then use it to dry your hair after you wash out the dye.

    Hello!

I would recommend a HOME stylist. A mobile hairdresser. they wont charge any more than a salon, if not, less and they do an absolutely fantastic job. find someone who has experience with weddings, most of them will have. they even do an extremely cheap trial run.

they come to your home and will do your bridesmaids too if you want them to. that way you dont have to travel anywhere, your in the comfort of your own home, you have more control over what they are doing because they communicate with you better....

    and they will do sundays!

congrats and I hope everything goes amazingly!

What is the cost to do microloop hair extensions. If u buy the hair and then take it too the salon.?

I want too do my hair in the new microloop and not the fusion that u use with glue for thats too expensive and i think it will damage my hair in years too come. Can u tell me the cost too do the micro loop. What is the cost to do microloop hair extensions. If u buy the hair and then take it too the salon.?
Most salons charge te same price for these services. The salon i work in does i know for a fact that they charge per hour and they charge the same amount. However when i am outside of the shop since im putting together a portfolio i will do it for a flat rate of 250 if you get your own hair, and 350 if i have to get it. So if you are lloking for less expensive, you might want to try to find a freshly graduated hairdresser. If not then you will most definitely be paying between 500 to 1500 dollars depending largely on where you live.

especially the amplifying hair spray, that stuff is AMAZING, and if you combine it with another ';fat hair'; product like the pomade or thickening creams or something, it adds so much volume omg

it can get a little pricey, thats the only down side but besides that its worth it

I have an interview at a hair salon tomorrow?

what kind of questions will they ask? do's and donts, etc.

thank you! :DI have an interview at a hair salon tomorrow?
You will probably be asked some of the following questions

    1. Tell me about yourself. (Be brief. Don't run on and on. Give a few facts about yourself.)

    2. Why are you interested in this type of work? (Give honest answer.)

    3. What type of training have you had? ( Tell where you received your training. Include any special techniques you have learned.)

    4. What do you do in your spare time? (List a couple of hobbies.)

    5. What are your strengths, weaknesses? ( Tell what your strengths are. Everyone has a weakness. Perhaps it is that you are a perfectionist or that you get impatient. Tell them what your weakness is and assure them that the weakness will not pose a problem. You might even be able to find a way to ';spin'; the weakness into a strength.)

    6. Why should we hire you? (Tell them what you can bring to the table. You should be able to point out how you can help bring in business.)I have an interview at a hair salon tomorrow?
    interview?
THey will ask how long you've been in the biz, what your strengths are, if you plan on being specialized in either coloring or cutting.

Definately make sure you look stylish and make sure you have a great attitude.

THey might have you do a model or showcase your talents. My best advice is to BE CONFIDENT.
They will probably want to know if you have any experience and skills. They will be looking for personality and if you are trustworthy. Don't try to BS. Be sure that you mention any training or experience you have.
bring a photo of hair that you have styled before! it'll impress them! and make sure your own hair looks stunning( i'm sure it does already) but if the hairdressers hair doesnt look good the customers would find it harder to trust them! and dont tell them any stories of hair thats gone wrong!use your common sense on what to tell them. be very polite and good luck!!

Help!! I'm booked into the hair salon but I don't have any pics!!!! 10pts for best answer?

I'm getting my hair permed in two days I've already booked into the hair salon, but I don't have any pics. I want something like a body wave.

    Please I really need pics.

Thanks.Help!! I'm booked into the hair salon but I don't have any pics!!!! 10pts for best answer?
To be completly honest, as a hairdresser for over ten years and a salon owner, A perm will turn out different on everyone, depending on there hair. If your hair is short you may want them to use smaller rods, if your hair is long then bigger ones. What is the lenth of your hair. There are also other factors you may want to concider like- Do you have colored hair ( is it dark or light)? Perms will left color out of your hair so no matter what your hair may be a shade lighter when you leave or within a few days of washing. also you never want to perm during your period or when you are pregnant, or anyone who is young enough not to have had one yet, your perm may not turn out of it will ';fry'; your hair. You may want to have them use a less strong perm but you also dont want to take the chance in it not working, keep in mind your perm will fall a good bit in the weeks following, so having a little more curl at the beginning is not a bad thing. Also keep in mind you dont have the same hair as people in pictures your hair will never turn out exactly like the picture you may take them. SYNERFUSION is a great perm, BIOLAGE is also a good one, you may want to call and see what kinds of perms they carry. Alot of large chains and smaller shops tend to use cheaper products, perms can cost alot so make sure they use a GOOD brand on you. This will make the biggest difference in you getting the best perm possible and more of whnt you want. I hope all turns out good !Help!! I'm booked into the hair salon but I don't have any pics!!!! 10pts for best answer?
I had my hair permed its was a little hard too deal with at first but in about 3 days it was great :] I dun have any pix but

If you have long hair use the smaller curlers but for shorter hair use the bigger ones...

But if you want just the wave go for the bigger ones

Here are three pictures that are of actual perm-like curls. Many curly or wavy hairstyles are done with rollers and can't be created with perms alone. These ones are the closest to a perm I could find:

  • Why do they wash ur hair so fast in a salon?

i enjoy the shampoo i find it relaxing, the hands and lather in your hair, i could fall a sleep just getting shampooed

Why do they wash ur hair so fast in a salon?
i believe they do it fast... one, cause they have other costumers to see that day, and two, they are using cold water which is healthier, but they don't want you to get cold :)

How much is it to get your hair styled in a salon?
It all depends where you go, I suggest you to a student salon, since it's students doing the hair it's way cheaper. I go to The Paul Mithchell School Salon and I've been going there for 5 years. I did my prom updo there for only $20. I recently had my hair cut, highlighted and blow dried straight all for $17. Here's the website so you can check if there's a school near you.

It's always nice to have some sort of education in Cosmetology to get an idea..But No, You don't have to have any sort of Qualifications(Except what the start requires for Business licenses, and whatnot.).

I want to make my hair a few shades lighter but can't afford to dye it at a salon?

What's a home remedy or something to make my hair lighter without going to a salon?I want to make my hair a few shades lighter but can't afford to dye it at a salon?
LEMON JUICE! It works great, but it may take a few sessions to get your hair to the shade that you want it to be. Here is the recipe:

-Take 1 cup of fresh-squeezed lemon juice (not from the bottle...fresh only.) and combine it with 1 1/2 Cups of lukewarm water. Put this in a large bowl and soak your hair for fifteen minutes, then afterwards leaning over a sink or tub and pouring it down your hair. Do this before sunbathing, but if you can't sunbathe you don't have to.I want to make my hair a few shades lighter but can't afford to dye it at a salon?
All you need is lemons or real lemon juice. Apply the lemon juice to all parts of your hair, or if you just want highlights just on selected portions. If it's for the whole head, dose liberally. Then all you need to do is sit in the sun for a couple of hours. Shorter depending on how many shades lighter you want. To check come back inside every 20 min. and rinse your hair to check results (make sure U dry it first). If it鈥檚 not the color you want reapply the juice and step out for a bit longer.

My personal favorite for lightening hair is Sun-in.

You can get it at any drug store (Wal-mart) and it鈥檚 pretty inexpensive.
I'm assuming you have blond hair... me too! Sunlight works. There's this stuff called Sun-In that you spray in your hair before you go out into the sun, and it lightens it. You can also use the John Frieda blond highlight activating shampoos and conditioners. They make it glisten more. All of those are cheaper than a salon dye job.

I have baby fine blond hair, so boxed dyes fry my hair really easily. The other stuff is a little better on your hair I think.
Then buy a box dye, they do work you know. :)

Or get some sun on it, that works well too. Don't use a lighter blonde than you want though, and hope it won't make it lighter or not leave it on long enough, make sure you buy the shade you want and use the dye properly.
go to a drug store and buy some hair dye.

if you want it to look good do it at the salon.

when i did highlights on myself, it looked horrible!!! :( Everyone laughed at me.

    :( :(:(:( :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(::(:(:(:(:(:(
i would find a way to raise money cause the ones at drug stores are very bad on your hair
buy some at a drug store or something

I've found really terrific hairdressers twice now (two different cities) by going up to strangers whose hair seems similar to mine except that *theirs* looks great. (Similar texture, curl or straightness, like that.)

    ';Excuse me for interrupting, but your haircut's great. Do you mind telling me who does it?';

Most people are terribly flattered and don't mind a bit. If two people name the same person, that's all the recommendation I need.

Do you generally tip the owner of a hair salon if they do your hair?

Generally, yes. You don't have to and some people do not. It's not like one of those things where if you don't tip a waiter it's considered rude.Do you generally tip the owner of a hair salon if they do your hair?
I know this was a big topic amongst my friends last year because one of our friends opened her own shop. It was about 50/50 as some of them did tip owners and others did not.

I have always tipped the owner of a salon because they are still providing their time and professional skills to do my hair.Do you generally tip the owner of a hair salon if they do your hair?
I think they divide the tips evenly at the end of the week.
They are providing a service like any other sytlist so tip him/her the same.
